October: Massive Caddis Eats, Stripping Streamers & Glorious Weather!

October 11, 2023

Fly Fishing Update:

There was gloriously sunny and warm weather this week. Despite the high-sun conditions, fishing was excellent and we are eager for the cloudy days and lower temps to return. Flows are hanging around the 3,100 CFS mark and the water temps are sitting around 57°F.

Dry fly fishing continues to provide exhilarating eats! Our anglers who are focused on top have been skittering October Caddis to successful eats. Pseudo fish are still coming up, with some guests reporting successful BWO feeds.

The return of the sow bug has nymphers with bent rods! Shallow or deep, our guests have been finding fish on sow bugs and rainbow warrior. Whether short-leasing, hopper dropper or deep nymphing, this is a great time of year to chase the indicator downstream.

Streamer fishing continues to be red hot! While bright sunny days are not the classic recipe for success, our anglers have been coming tight on streamer fish in the overcast portion of the day. Repeated eats and good fish are being reported river wide.

Drop us a line and we hope to see you soon!
