What an incredible opening month it has been at the Missouri River Ranch! From welcoming new team members, to seeing our long time friends (and guide dogs!) and guests back at the lodge, the 2024 season is off to a great start. We are excited to share our new additions with all of you.
Dry fly fishing has been excellent in the afternoons. Large hatches of BWOs have had fish looking up, while blankets of midges have also been seen enticing fish to come to the surface.We had a number of skilled anglers this week take full advantage of the rising fish.
Nymphing is in full-blown spring mode! Short-leasing baetis nymph patterns (perdigons) has been producing wonderful numbers of fired-up rainbows. Going a bit deeper with sow bugs will also produce fish all day long.
Streamer fishing has been fairly good as our rainbows exit the spawn.
Guests have been taking advantage of our e-bikes to access and wade fish the property. They have been finding success by stripping streamers near our structure and deeper pools.
