July 30, 2026 July is going out with a bang at the Missouri River Ranch. We've been lucky enough to have some incredible groups come through celebrating birthdays and girls' trips this last week. Not only have the spirits been as high as the temperatures, but we have also had anglers bring in some of the biggest fish of the season in recent weeks. July 23, 2026 Herds of elk and some of the biggest trout of the year were spotted last week at the Missouri River Ranch. The warmer weather has added new challenges and opportunities to the Mighty Mo. While the weeds forming in the river can make for the occasional frustrating drift, those same weeds produce great habitat for stealthy brown trout that feed just off the weed line. Northern Lights and Hopper Bites!
July 16, 2026 Montana and the Missouri River is hitting it's full summer swing. With the warmer temperatures upon us, the terrestrial bite is beginning to heat up as well and will only get better as the summer continues. Big grasshoppers and ants are quickly becoming the meal of choice for the trout on the river which leads to big eats from big fish. While not a nightly occurrence, we have been lucky enough to have the Northern Lights glowing in the "Big Sky" in recent nights
