The Perfect Wingshooting and Fishing Experience: 160 Acres on the Missouri River
Sitting just upstream of Craig, Montana the 160-acres of the Missouri River Ranch represents the pinnacle of wingshooting - intimate enough to know every coulee and agricultural field, yet expansive enough to hold healthy bird populations and provide varied terrain throughout the season.
Our 3-day experience offers an intimate and exclusive retreat for up to 6 guests, featuring guided morning pheasant hunts, with all-inclusive accommodations and gracious hospitality at the ranch. Afternoons are to enjoy at your leisure - relax at the lodge, or enhance your experience by adding afternoon fly fishing, an additional 2-hour hunt, or extra clay shooting sessions for an additional fee.
The Craig Advantage
Craig sits in Montana's golden triangle, where the productive waters of the Missouri River cut through rolling benchlands, creating the fertile habitat upland birds crave. You're hunting country that transitions from dense river bottom willows to rolling hills of milo and wheat stubble - the kind of edge habitat where pheasants thrive. The Missouri River itself creates a microclimate that holds birds, even when surrounding public lands face pressure or harsh weather.
The Private Ranch Difference
On 160 acres, you're not racing against other upland hunters. You can work methodically, returning to the ideal cover that produced yesterday, learning where birds flush to after the first push. The dogs meticulously work the landscape, pinning hard flying roosters for the perfect shot.
The Complete Experience
After the guns are cased, you're standing on the banks of the Missouri's finest trout water. The same property that provides your bird hunting offers evening dry-fly opportunities to rising trout. Few places let you watch bird dogs work through cover at dawn and cast to wild trout at dusk.
At the Missouri River Ranch, you’re stepping into an exclusive Montana wingshooting tradition.
