We like to describe September as the "Goldilocks" month. After a long summer in Craig, Montana we begin to head towards the fall, where all conditions are perfectly aligned. Gone are the pleasure floating crowds of summer despite the incredible weather and fly fishing.
Terrestrials are still present for the dry fly angler, while nymphing and streamer fishing picks-up as the river temperatures begin to drop overnight. September is a fantastic month to experience action at every turn on the river!
Back at MRR, we take advantage of the September weather and plan incredible live-outdoor-cooking events, riverside cocktail hours, and star gazing by the firepit. Hikes along Holter Lake and Prickly Pear Creek allow our guests to see elk, mule deer, coyotes and more! Come join us this September for a true Montana experience.
