September days on the Missouri are meant to be savored. Earlier parts of the month holds on to summer, with hoppers & terrestrials still producing quality fish. Kids are back to school and the river is void of pleasure floaters. Anglers enjoy beautiful weather, quality fishing, and half the crowds. The sun sets late in the day, and anglers can still fly fish well into the evening.
Then, one day in mid-September, the first "cold" front will roll through town. Anglers eagerly dust-off their 6wt., tie on a streamer and start stripping flies to trigger the first fall bite. That first turn of the seasons fires up the entire community, as we prepare for an incredible season of fall fishing!
Come watch the seasons change as the trees dotting the riverbank sprout color and trout push out of their summer holds and into prime feeding grounds. And best of all, the craft cocktails and gourmet creations at the Missouri River Ranch begin to utilize the local fall produce!
