Non-stop doubles!

May 18, 2022

Fly Fishing Update: Anglers are consistently "doubling up", and fish have spread out across the entire river/water column. April fished well, May is incredible! Each passing week cements the Missouri as the best fly fishing in Montana. Flows are currently 2920 CFS and the water temperature is about 47°F. Dry fly fishing is shaping up to be the best it's been in recent memory. Blue Wing Olives, March Browns, (dare I say) some Caddis, and the errant terrestrial are all on the menu. Anglers have continued to have great success fishing BWO spinners to rising trout. We had eight (confirmed) fish landed on Chubby Chernobyl patterns this week! Nymph fishing is lightning hot! Anglers can fish the entire day with one setup. A high floating dry (Chubby Chernobyl, Amy's Ant, Stimmy) with a perdigon dropper fished 24-36" below the dry will catch fish throughout the entire river system. Streamer fishing has cooled down slightly, but continues to produce fish when the conditions align. Angler's seeking to Drop us a line and we hope to see you soon!
