There's no denying that it is hot on the Missouri! Day-time temperatures are forecasted to be between 90°-100°F for at least the next two weeks (and have been for the previous two!). Weeds are starting to show up in the river and recreational floaters are "hatching" in the early afternoon.
The silver lining to this is that fishing is still great in the mornings! Bug life is abundant and anglers are catching good numbers of fish. Flows are around 4,060 CFS with water temperatures at 63°F.
Dry fly fishing continues to take advantage of the bug buffet! Morning are the best with good trico activity, while caddis, ants and hoppers provide all-day fun.
Nymphing has is good and fish are starting to be found in the faster water. Catch a few fish early, the swap over to fishing dries! And give those fish a break after lunch.
Streamer fishing is still on vacation.. check back in September.
Drop us a line, and we'll see you soon at the ranch!
