Fly Fishing Update:
A few passing showers made way to blue skies and beautiful weather this week. The river is at 8,300 CFS while water temperatures have risen to just below 56°F. As tributaries continue to clear, anglers are enjoying the access to the Dearborn and Prickly Pear rivers for some incredible fishing! Our guests have also been enjoying incredible hikes around Holter lake to spot the wild flower blooms.
BWOs made a brief reappearance while PMDS continue to emerge out on the river! Higher waters can limit opportunities to find rising fish. However, anglers who continue to seek out slower moving pockets are able to headhunt.
Nymph however you please! Anglers who fished shallow and deep were both equally rewarded this week. Shallow nymphing sowbugs or perdigons did quite well, while probing the depths also produced quality fish.
Streamer fishing has heated up again! Beginner and intermediate anglers alike were able to bring numerous fish to the boat this week. Focus on cloudier days while fishing patterns such as Barely Legals, Thinmints, or Flash-n-grabs!
Drop us a line and we hope to see you soon!
