The weather in Craig may still feel a bit like summer, but our brown trout sure seem to think its fall! The past week has produced quality over quantity in terms of our trout. The flows are at 3,200 CFS with water temperatures coming out of the dam at 57.8°F. Daytime highs will vary between 58°F-73°F over the next week.
Dry fly fishing has been spotty during the day, but picking up in the late afternoons and early evenings. Caddis, October Caddis, a few Callibaetis and some Pseudos are still taking fish. As the river dips into the 50's... we may see some BWOs by the end of the month.
Nymphers have been finding good success running nymphs shallow in the mid afternoon. With lower river levels, take advantage of fishing the seams that aren't always visible!
Streamer fishing continues to produce our larger fish. Aggressive fall browns have been found deep. Anglers are finding consistent actions with shinier/smaller patterns over likely structure.
