Fly Fishing Update: The Missouri is sitting at an ideal 5,880 CFS, providing ample habitat for trout and anglers alike, from top-to-bottom. As we transition from the prolific PMD & Caddis hatches of the last few weeks, anglers are eagerly awaiting the Tricos and Hoppers. Rolling Caddis blind, as well as fishing terrestrial patterns continue to produce fish on top. While not as steady as the last few weeks, dry fly fishing continues to be good. It should explode as the trout begin to key in on morning Trico hatches. The Missouri River is famous for its Trico hatch, and can be a highlight in the warmer summer months. Nymphing is a solid option in the later half of the morning. Frenchies, tailwater sow bugs, scuds and zebra midges continue to work well. Streamer fishing has produced a few fish for our guests, but is not the main event. Clear, blue bird skies and warmer water are creating more ideal conditions for nymphing, than throwing a streamer.
