Opening week at the Missouri River Ranch has been marked by great fishing, incredible food, beautiful weather and the reunion of old friends. We are so excited to share the lodge and river with all of you, especially as the hatches continue to build! Flows are currently at 4160CFS and water temps are 44°F.
BWO hatches have been thick, with anglers finding great heads and steady action. The next few weeks will be our strongest BWO hatch until late fall, so make sure to take advantage of the action. Midges are still bringing trout to the surface throughout the day.
Nymphing with baetis patterns, sow bugs and zebra midges have continued to produce quality trout for our guests. As water temperatures continue to creep up, so do our trout into spring runs. Deeper nymphing has been the ticket, although running nymphs short during hatches will work equally well.
Streamer fishing keeps rods bent during overcast portions of the day. Kreelex, sparkle minnows and thin mints are still the main patterns.

Drop us a line, and we'll see you soon at the ranch!
This is sure to be an unbelievable season on the Missouri.
